The music collective Viennoise is organizing a group exhibition from May 26th – May 31st, 2015 at Mo.ë Vienna. International and national artists will show their artwork regarding the topic of Electromagnetism being the source of consciousness and the connecting element of our Universe.
The works on display shall reveal the interconnection between all things through vibration and frequency. ELECTROPIA is an effort to promote change by disclosing the dynamics of the inter-relationship of all things and dismissing the illusionary concept of a fully perfect (utopia) or fully imperfect environment (dystopia) in order to bring us into a balanced relationship with ourselves, Nature, the Earth and the Universe as a whole.
This is a concept of particular interest to our society, which provides a tool that allows guests to form their own interpretations of the Universe relative to their own existence. People are invited to engage with the shown artwork that includes paintings, sculptures and interactive sound & video installations.
The highlight of ELECTROPIA will take place on Friday, May 29th, 7pm. Headliner & Live Act Nino Šebelić (Pure Sonik Records, Logos Recordings, Motech, Minimalsoul™ Recordings, Lyre Records) will perform an Electro Live-Set of his unreleased material. His work is influenced by the sound of “Kraftwerk” and the early electronic productions of Detroit Techno.
We are happy to announce we could add TJ Hicks to the line-up! He currently records electronic music under the moniker Altroy and has remixed or recorded for Vienna Wildstyle (AT), Home (AT), Editions Mego (AT) his own imprint Minimalsoul™(AT). Hicks releases a variety of soulful, modern and abstract music. [changing the way you listen..] is the basic concept of the label.
Their performance will be accompanied with visuals from VJ Azz. The Taiwanese cartoonist transforms screens into 3D stages for her freaky comics, yet gives space for political and sociocritical content.
Some artists will show their work only on Friday Night. We have rented an extra hall in order to display artwork such as “Portraits as Waveform” by Zoe de Witt, Judith Fegerl’s “Temporal Deflector”, a plant concert by Martin Roth, singing spray cans by Roland Maurmair or a space walk through “Euclidian Space” by Hrvoje Hiršl and much more.
Come and enter a parallel Universe with us!
Participating Artists: Louise Deininger (Kenya), Zoe DeWitt (Austria), Judith Fegerl (Austria), Klaus Gstettner, Hrvoje Hiršl (Croatia), Roland Maurmair (Austria), Martin Roth (Austria/US), Julian Rubisch (Austria), Anton Russ (1940 -2013, Austria), Atelier Lucas Zallmann (Austria).
